Luigi Michelacci - "Man with trained monkey" - Oil on Faesite - 35.5x25 cm

Luigi Michelacci (Meldola, 1879 - 1959) – "Man with trained monkey". Oil painting on faesite, dimensions 35.5x25 cm. The panel depicts a male figure in humble clothing accompanied by a small monkey, characterized by impasto brushstrokes and strong chiaroscuro contrasts. The back of the wooden support bears various historical labels that attest to its prolonged circulation in important exhibitions and anthological shows (Meldola 1980, 1999, 2009-2010, 2019 and Florence, at the Parronchi Gallery). The work is accompanied by photographic documentation and is officially published in the reference catalogue of Luigi Michelacci edited by Antonio Parronchi, on Plate XCV.
